Yarnell Hill Fire: Yarnell evacuees remain at Red Cross Shelter in Wickenburg

WICKENBURG, AZ - Greg Stell and his family lost their home in the Yarnell Hill Fire that started over a week ago.

"We are going to go back to nothing," Stell said on Saturday.

Stell and his family moved into the home where his parents have lived for years, just days before they were evacuated last weekend.

Stell says his parents Angie Johnson and Don Mason have lived in the home for almost 10 years which held many "wonderful & loving memories for all of us."

That's when erratic winds caused the Yarnell Hill Fire to spread fast, engulfing everything in its path.

"It felt like a warzone more than anything else," Stell said.

Stell knows that image all too well. He's a former member of the U.S. Army.

The family is taking shelter at Wickenburg High School. Volunteers are providing everything from food, to childcare, even fixing Stell's foot that he hurt during evacuations.
