Wesley Kane Hauer shot during domestic violence dispute in Mohave Valley

MOHAVE VALLEY, AZ - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a domestic violence case that ended with a man suffering a gun shot wound to the groin.

According to authorities, deputies responded to the domestic violence call at a residence in the 3000 block of East Deadwood Drive just after 7 p.m. Thursday night.

Deputies learned that shots were fired during the incident and located a male lying outside near the front patio with a gunshot wound to his groin area.

The male was identified as 39-year-old Wesley Kane Hauer, a Mohave Valley resident

Hauer was taken to the hospital for medical treatment.

During the investigation, officials learned that Hauer was outside assaulting his girlfriend when his mother stepped outside to help her.

Hauer began chasing his mother back into the house and he soon continued to assault the female.

The mother's boyfriend told Hauer to stop the assault. He then went back into the residence and grabbed a .22 caliber gun.

Hauer threw a beer bottle through the window and proceeded to grab a rock as Hauer's mother's boyfriend shot Hauer.

The weapon was confiscated.

The case is still under investigation.
