Wade Cole Dickinson escape update: US Marshals helping with Arizona escapee hunt

CAMP VERDE, AZ - The U.S. Marshals are joining the manhunt for an Arizona inmate who escaped from a central Arizona jail .

U.S. Marshal David Gonzales of the Arizona District said Thursday that federal agents will work with local officials to locate Wade Cole Dickinson.

The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office says earlier this month the 28-year-old Dickinson fled on foot from the Camp Verde Detention Center. Officials say Dickinson scaled a wall in the jail's recreation yard and separate overhead security fencing to access the roof and climb down to the ground level.

Authorities say he was awaiting a transfer to a state prison.

Dickinson was recently sentenced to nearly 25 years in prison for fraud, drugs and possession of a firearm.
