Victims from N. Arizona plane crash identified

PHOENIX - Authorities have released the names of two people killed in a plane crash in northern Arizona last week.

The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office identified the victims as 47-year-old Charles Trotter of Liberty, South Carolina and 15-year-old Dakota Jacks of Pickens, South Carolina.

The pair was reportedly flying from Southern California to South Carolina and had stopped in Page, Arizona on Friday.

They left from Page without a flight plan, according a spokesman with Civil Air Patrol, which had pilots from four states searching for the plane after it was reported missing on Saturday.

Around 1:40 p.m. on Sunday the wreckage of a small plane was located in Peach Canyon, 35 miles east of Page on the Navajo Nation.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board.
