Student pilot crashes plane in Cottonwood, suffers minor injuries

COTTONWOOD, AZ - A student pilot suffered minor injuries after he crashed his plane into a fence Monday at Cottonwood Municipal Airport.

The pilot reportedly mistook a road for a runway and crashed around 5 p.m. Monday night.

He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The personal aircraft, a Piper PA28, was reportedly heavily damaged.

The Federal Aviation Administration will  investigate the crash.
