PAGE, AZ - A witness says three people were aboard a small plane that landed in the back yard of a home in northern Arizona on Saturday.
Darby McNutt sent photos to ABC15 showing the aircraft shortly after it ended up in the yard of a house down the street from his home in Page.
McNutt said the landing happened around 6 p.m.
Page police Capt. Ray Varner said the plane was coming in from the east when it hit a gust of wind, throwing it sideways.
The plane bounced off a runway, powered up intending to circle and come back around, but couldn't get lift and got about four blocks before getting into back yards.
Varner said some people were under an awning that the plane bounced off of before landing in the yard.
Varner said the three people on board were the pilot and two French tourists.
The pilot had a minor leg injury, a male passenger suffered a foot injury and his wife was not hurt but was also taken to the hospital to be checked out.
Varner commended the pilot for avoiding buildings as he landed.
