President Obama calls Governor Brewer about Wallow Fire

WASHINGTON - The White House released a photo Thursday morning of President Barack Obama talking on the phone with Arizona Governor Jan Brewer about the Wallow Fire in eastern Arizona.

The president "expressed his concerns for the citizens of Arizona who are dealing with multiple severe fires," according to White House spokesman Jay Carney.

Brewer's office issued a statement saying the president pledged to provide all federal resources necessary to the state of Arizona in the battle to contain the wildfires raging throughout the state.

Brewer said she discussed with Obama concerns regarding delayed information from federal disaster officials about what's happening in mountain communities.

The president told Brewer he will work with federal officials to help iron out any problems related to a lack or delay of communication.
