PCSO: Children pulled from canal, safe

The Phoenix Fire Department has been called to assist with a water rescue, reportedly involving children, in Pinal County, according to a Phoenix fire captain.

Captain Benjamin Santillan said the water rescue is located near West Papago Road and Warren Road in Maricopa.

Santillan said the caller reported that a vehicle with children inside was being swept away.

Sgt. Ramirez, spokesman for PCSO, said the children were pulled out from the canal and are fine. However, he did not provide specifics on the number of children or how they ended up in the wash.

Air15 video showed emergency crews on both sides of the canal.

No other details were immediately released.
