PHOENIX - The rescue of seven reptiles from an Arizona home will soon be featured on an episode of Animal Planet's "Confessions: Animal Hoarding".
According to a spokesperson with the Phoenix Herpetological Society, the northwestern Arizona man is voluntarily giving up the animals as he is no longer able to care for all of them.
"This is a situation where a young man, who really loves these reptiles, has become overwhelmed with the number of animals he has and it is taking almost all of his time to care for them," says Russ Johnson, President of PHS, who is participating in the rescue.
The reptiles reportedly include four large pythons, ranging from 14 to 16 feet in length, as well as two collared lizards.
A PHS spokesperson said footage of the rescue will air on Animal Planet's new series "Confessions: Animal Hoarding", which explores stories of people who own more pets than they can properly care for.
