Louisiana-based LHC Group will become the majority owner and operator of two of Northern Arizona Healthcare's home health agencies and a hospice under a joint venture agreement.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed on Monday.

Northern Arizona Health Care is the largest health care organization in that part of the state, with more than 3,000 doctors and staff and facilities that include the 267-bed Flagstaff Medical Center and the 110-bed Verde Valley Medical Center.

Under the joint venture, LHC will take over operations at Northern Arizona Healthcare's Flagstaff and Cottonwood home nursing agencies and a hospice in Cottonwood.

Chief Executive Officer Keith Myers tells The Advocate LHC has 66 joint ventures with hospitals and health systems providing services through 112 home health and 12 hospice joint-ventured agencies.
