OAK CREEK CANYON, AZ - A small wildfire in northern Arizona's scenic Oak Creek Canyon that forced the evacuation of about 40 people is fully contained.
Infrared mapping shows the so-called Junipine Fire charred about 7 acres. It was reported Monday afternoon and contained late Tuesday.
Authorities believe the fire was sparked by a downed power line. No structures were threatened.
The Junipine Fire was north of the remains of the Slide Fire, which broke out last month and burned in rugged terrain for more than two weeks.
Coconino National Forest spokesman Brady Smith says some interior pockets still are smoldering in the canyon's West Fork.
