PHOENIX - Officials released a new map detailing the progression of the Slide Fire burning in Oak Creek Canyon in northern Arizona.
The map was sent out by the Southwest Area Incident Management Team early Friday afternoon which is managing the fire.
In a midday update, officials said over 100 spot fires were found Thursday night with an infrared flight north of the fire. Crews were able to easily douse those fires due to past fuel treatments in the area.
No new information was available on the size of the Slide Fire or containment. At last word the fire had burned 7,500 acres and was 5% contained.
