PINAL COUNTY, AZ - A DPS officer was arrested during Country Thunder for disorderly conduct and hindering a government operation.
41-year-old Officer Steven Svestka was arrested at "Moonshine Willy's" bar inside Country Thunder after he refused to leave the women's restroom area and became combative towards officers, the Pinal County Sheriff's Office said.
Officers were called to the bar shortly before 10 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2013 and found Svestka standing outside the women's restroom. Pinal County Police said Svestka displayed "obvious" signs of alcohol intoxication.
Svestka refused to leave the women's bar when Pinal County Officers requested and had to be forcibly escorted out of the bar, according to police.
Officers tried to talk with Svestka who then became combative and was eventually placed in handcuffs, police said.
Police said they gave Svestka "multiple opportunities" to calm down, according to the police statement.
Svestka was booked at the Pinal County Adult Detention Center on one count of Disorderly Conduct and one count of Hindering a Government Operation. He has since been released.
