PHOENIX - Coconino County sheriff's deputies are investigating the murder of a teenaged boy found Friday east of Ash Fork.
The sheriff's office got a call about a body on the north side of Interstate 40 just east of Ash Fork, according to a report.
A gas company employee pulled off the highway on a side road and discovered the boy's body on the ground in the turnaround area, officials said.
Investigators determined the victim had suffered a blow to the head, but the official cause of death is still pending. He's been identified as a 16-year-old male from Ash Fork, officials said.
Detectives have conducted multiple interviews but do not have a suspect at this time.
