GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, AZ - A body has been found below the rim of the Grand Canyon, in the area where a Glendale man went missing on Saturday.
The National Park Service said the family of Marc Buckhout has been told of the discovery.
Buckhout, 36, was reported missing by a family member on Saturday evening. He was last seen at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, hiking along the South Rim west of Grandview Point near Highway 64.
The National Park Service will recover the victim’s body first thing Thursday morning due to the location and technical operation required.
Once the body is recovered it will be turned over to the Coconino County Medical Examiner for positive identification, according to the park service.
The Medical Examiner’s office and National Park Service are conducting an investigation into the death.
