2 inmates at Winslow prison complex get 10 years for assaulting corrections officer

WINSLOW, AZ - Two inmates will each serve an additional 10 years after pleading guilty to assaulting a corrections officer at the Winslow prison complex last year.

Guillermo Caughlan, 25, and Salvador Reyes, 27, each entered guilty pleas to one count each of dangerous assault by a prisoner, a felony.

In the July 19, 2013 incident, the two inmates attacked an officer from behind as inmates from that housing location were being turned out for meal service, according to the Department of Corrections.

Other officers immediately responded to restrain the inmates and give aid to the officer.

The extra 10 years will be added to the sentences for their previous crimes.
