Golden Valley man accused of manslaughter after shooting death of roommate

GOLDEN VALLEY, AZ - A Golden Valley man was taken into custody Monday by Mohave County Sheriff deputies in connection with the shooting death of his roommate.

Louie Manuel Torres, 61, is accused of shooting Jeffrey Todd Allen, 44, also of Golden Valley, after an argument turned violent, authorities said.

After an initial altercation between the roommates, Allen reportedly left the residence.

When he returned and was walking up the driveway, Torres stated he shot three warning shots to scare Allen and one struck Allen in the neck.

At around 6:45 p.m., deputies responded to a weapons offense call and determined shots were coming from Torres' place, MCSO said.

Deputies located Torres walking in the street with a firearm on his waist and took him into custody without incident.

Torres was booked into Mohave County Jail accused of manslaughter and reckless and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The case is still under investigation.
