A member of a white supremacist street gang has been sentenced to life in prison in connection with a 2006 murder near Lake Havasu.

Attorney General Mark Brnovich said David Evan Bounds pled guilty to first-degree premeditated murder on Monday morning. A judge sentenced Bounds to life in prison with eligibility of parole after 25 years.

Bounds was indicted in 2011 in connection with the 2006 death of Christopher Gromberg.

According to Brnovich, in April 2006, Bounds and another gang member lured Gromberg to the parking lot of Lake Havasu Island Mall under the guise of attending a concert together.

Shortly after meeting with Gromberg in the lot, Bounds got into the vehicle directly behind Gromberg, who was in the driver seat. Bounds then shot Gromberg twice in the back of the head. Bounds fled the scene and returned to the Valley.

Brnovich said at the time of the murder, Bounds believed Gromberg had cooperated with authorities in a the homicide investigation of a fellow Aryan Brotherhood gang member.
