MOHAVE VALLEY, AZ - An Arizona man has been arrested after a juvenile died of an apparent drug overdose.
Richard Allan Falstad of Mohave Valley was arrested on Friday morning and faces charges of negligent homicide and two counts of child abuse.
According to the Mohave County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a Mohave Valley home last Saturday night to follow up on a medical call.
Deputies were told that two juveniles had possible overdosed on an illegal substance at the home.
Both juveniles were taken to the hospital with one being air-lifted to University Medical Center in Las Vegas.
Falstad reportedly told investigators that both juveniles became ill at his residence, with one of them experiencing seizures.
He said that he drove one of the juveniles to the walk-in clinic in Bullhead City. He was ultimately taken to the Las Vegas facility where he later died.
On Friday, MCSO detectives served a search warrant at Falstad's home where they found evidence to support charges against him.
Falstad was taken into custody during a traffic stop near his home and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
