Flagstaff Police Department asking for help identifying suspect in physical, sexual assault case

FLAGSTAFF, AZ - On Sunday, July 21, the Flagstaff Police Department responded to a call of a reported sexual assault.

According to a police report, around 2:30 a.m. police found a female victim who was suffering from physical and sexual injuries near West Grand Canyon Avenue.

Officials learned the victim was walking home when she was approached by a Native American male in his mid to late 20's.

The suspect asked the victim for directions and engaged in a brief conversation.

When the victim began walking away, the suspect asked her another question, grabbed her from behind and began to attack her.

The suspect is described as approximately 6 feet tall, 200 pounds with medium length black hair. He was wearing a grey T-shirt and pants.
