DPS: 4 killed in I-40 crash near Flagstaff

FLAGSTAFF, AZ - Interstate 40 near Flagstaff has reopened in both directions after a deadly accident closed it Thursday, according to Arizona Department of Transportation officials.

The head-on crash happened Thursday morning at milepost 220.1. The Department of Public Safety said an eastbound car crossed the median and struck another vehicle head-on about 25 miles east of Flagstaff.

Four people were killed the crash, DPS said. Three people were air-lifted to Flagstaff Medical Center.

DPS said eight of people were involved in the crash.
