Coconino Community College District to cut several full-time jobs on Page campus

PAGE, AZ - A northern Arizona community college is eliminating several full-time jobs in the hopes of saving thousands of dollars.

The Arizona Daily Sun reports that the Coconino Community College District is downsizing its Page campus to only being staffed with two full-time positions.

Officials say a director and student services coordinator will remain full-time but all instructors will teach on a part-time basis.

The cuts mean the loss of 15 positions, or 10 percent of the college disrict's workforce.

CCC says it is trying to close a $1.3 million budget gap in the next three years.

Officials anticipate making $855,000 in spending cuts and generating $430,000 in new revenue.

Page campus director Jim Hunter says residents can still get a basic associate degree within city limits.
