FLAGSTAFF, AZ - Wildlife officials are investigating the illegal poaching of a deer in northern Arizona.
The Arizona and Game and Fish Department says the mule deer doe was found in Kaibab National Forest near Williams with an arrow wound to the lungs.
The agency says the deer was shot either on Jan. 24 or the following day.
Game and Fish managers say an archery deer season is only open for bucks.
The agency says it has little evidence and is offering a reward for information leading to an arrest.
Authorities say it is possible the deer was shot from a nearby road.
