SCOTTSDALE, AZ - Officers were out in full force Saturday night after thousands left the Waste Management Open in Scottsdale looking for a safe way home.
"I take a shuttle. I walk from the hotel to the shuttle so I can drink and have fun," said one TPC attendee.
While many resorted to cabs or shuttles after a day of drinking out on the course, a number of people took a risk.
MCSO, Scottsdale, Gilbert, and Tempe police departments joined for a DUI task force down the road from the event.
Police made three arrests early Saturday night and although that is one too many, officials say this year's numbers are down in comparison to the 119 DUI arrests from last year.
"To me it sends the message that everybody is making good decisions and Everyone wants to get home safe and they are getting the message," said Sgt. Tommy Jensen from the Scottsdale Police Department.
