Toys R Us: Shoppers hit the stores in Scottsdale for Black Friday deals

SCOTTSDALE, AZ - The mad dash inside the Toys R Us in Scottsdale initiated the start of Black Friday for the roughly 100 shoppers in line.

The store near the Loop 101 and Indian Bend opened earlier than ever, 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.

Outside the Toys R Us, the line started relatively late compared to other stores and shops opening across the Valley.

Martin Carrillo of Los Angeles was first in line and said he was surprised that at 5.p.m., he was the only one at the door.

"I think the reason is because there's really no breakout toy everyone must have," he told ABC15.

Within two hours of his arrival, the line had expanded and stretched beyond the toy store's sidewalk.

Shoppers said this was only the beginning of a long weekend of shopping.

"I'm off to Target," said Ashley Mercer of Scottsdale. Mercer was in and out of the toy store within six minutes.
