Scottsdale police arrest teen for selling brownies, cookies containing marijuana

SCOTTSDALE, AZ - Police arrested a 16-year-old student who allegedly sold baked goods containing marijuana Friday in Scottsdale.

Scottsdale police were notified when a female student at Chaparral High School threw up after eating a brownie that she said contained marijuana, according to Officer David Pubins.

The school is located near Shea Boulevard and Scottsdale Road.

The officer investigating the incident learned the 16-year-old male student had sold brownies and cookies containing marijuana to 11 students, Pubins said.

He reportedly knew seven of those students personally.

The investigation took place at the end of the school day, and all the other students had left.

But the parents of those students were contacted, and they learned what their teens had purchased at school, Pubins said.

The unidentified suspect was booked on multiple marijuana-related charges.
