SCOTTSDALE, AZ - Scottsdale police say a driver suffered minor injuries when someone fired a shot at his vehicle Monday night.
Officer David Pubins said the victim told police that he was dropping off his vehicle at an auto shop near Scottsdale Road and Williams Drive around 10:45 p.m. and found the business closed.
The 39-year-old Tempe man left the business and headed north on Scottsdale Road and as he drove he noticed a dark-colored vehicle following him.
The man thought it was strange so he decided to make a U-turn and head southbound.
As he turned his vehicle, he noticed the driver of a blue truck fire one round at his vehicle, striking his door.
The suspect vehicle drove away and the victim pulled off the roadway and called police.
Police said the victim had a minor cut on his leg from a piece of the door that was broken off from the shot.
He was taken to a local hospital and released after treatment.
Pubins said detectives are interviewing an investigative lead in the case and that the case is still being investigated.
