SCOTTSDALE, AZ - A stretch of Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard in Scottsdale was shut down for several hours Tuesday night as crews worked to clear the scene of a messy rollover wreck.
Scottsdale police Sgt. David Pubins said a Ford pickup was northbound on Frank Lloyd Wright around 6:45 p.m. when the driver lost control and went off the road just north of Cactus Road.
The truck rolled, causing the vehicle to catch fire, according to Pubins.
The male driver suffered burns to his hands and feet and was airlifted to County Hospital. The female passenger, who was not wearing a seatbelt, suffered serious injuries and was transported to SHC Osborn.
It is unclear what caused the driver to lose control of the truck.
