SCOTTSDALE, AZ - Police say a pedestrian has serious injuries after a cab struck him early Saturday morning at a Scottsdale intersection.
The crash happened around 1:45 a.m. at 5th Avenue and Scottsdale Road, according to Officer David Pubins with Scottsdale police.
The pedestrian, in his early 20s, was crossing from east to west on 5th Avenue when he was hit by a Yellow Cab, which was heading southbound.
Pubins said the pedestrian was in the crosswalk but was walking against a red light.
He was taken to Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Alcohol and speed were not a factor on the part of the driver, Pubins said.
Pubins said it appears the pedestrian may have been impaired. His condition was initially listed as life-threatening but has since been upgraded.
