At least one police officer opened fire on a suspect who rammed two police cars near a Scottsdale casino on Thursday morning.

The incident happened outside the Talking Stick Resort & Casino near the Loop 101 and Talking Stick Way. Several areas near the resort have been sealed off as crime scenes.

A Salt River Police Department spokesperson confirms to ABC15 two people have been taken into custody.

According to Detective Ed Alameda, officers responded to a parking lot east of the casino around 12:30 a.m. after receiving reports of a suspicious vehicle.

ABC15 has confirmed once officers showed up, the suspects tried to drive away and rammed one police vehicle.

It didn't end there. The suspects continued to evade officers and rammed a second police cruiser.  The officer in that car fired shots at the suspects.

As the Salt River Police Department officer fired, the suspects continued onto the Loop 101.

Shortly after entering the freeway, the suspects exited at McKellips Road where it appears the car broke down and was immediately surrounded by Salt River Police Department Officers and Arizona Department of Public Safety Troopers.

A man and woman were taken into custody.  The male suspect was taken to the hospital.  Investigators have not yet said what type of injuries the suspect sustained.

No officers were injured.
