SCOTTSDALE, AZ - Police say a man stole cell phones from more than a dozen backpacks in the locker room of a Scottsdale middle school Wednesday.
According to Scottsdale police Sgt. Mark Clark, it happened around 3:30 p.m. at Mountainside Middle School near 128th Street and Via Linda.
A staff member noticed a male subject leaving the boys locker room after school hours, Clark said. He appeared older than the students and also did not appear to be a staff member.
The staff member then went into the locker room to find many backpacks on the floor, Clark said. Students who owned the backpacks said their cell phones were missing out of about 15 of them.
The suspect is described as a male around 25 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall, medium build with short dark hair, wearing a dark shirt and khaki shorts.
He was seen leaving the campus on foot.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident and have no further information.
