PD: Kidnapping suspects arrested after Scottsdale barricade

SCOTTSDALE, AZ - Police say a kidnapping suspect, who was barricaded in an apartment Wednesday morning, has surrendered in Scottsdale.

According to Scottsdale police spokesman Mark Clark, officers were at the scene off 76th Street, just south of McDowell Road.

Police said the suspect came out of the apartment around 11 a.m.

The suspect was reportedly wanted for kidnapping a husband and wife in their 30s, who were both able to escape through a window off the second story balcony.

Police said the husband initially texted his father, who then contacted police.

Another suspect was involved in the kidnapping but surrendered when police arrived.

The street, also marked as Miller Road, was closed between McDowell Road and Roosevelt Street during the barricade situation.
