SCOTTSDALE, AZ - Police say a 71-year-old bicyclist has died after being struck by a vehicle in North Scottsdale Friday night.
Officer David Pubins said a sedan traveling northbound on Pima Road struck the cyclist at Dixileta Road.
Pubins said the bicyclist was taken to a Scottsdale hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Pubins said neither speed nor alcohol were factors in the accident. He also said no citations were issued because the cyclist moved into the traffic way where he was struck.
Pima Road between Dixileta and Dynamite roads was closed for more than an hour while crews worked to clear the scene.
The bicyclist has not been identified at this time.
