PD: 2-year-old girl pulled from Scottsdale pool dies

SCOTTSDALE, AZ - A 2-year-old pulled from a pool at a Scottsdale home has died.

Scottsdale Fire Department spokesman Jay Ducote said paramedics responded to a home near Pinnacle Peak and Pima roads where the family was attempting CPR on the child.

Paramedics continued life support efforts when they arrived.

Ducote said the family is from out of town and are renting the home for summer vacation.

Scottsdale police Sgt. Mark Clark said the child was transported to the hospital in life-threatening condition.

She was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Clark said the girl slipped away from adult supervision and was found unconscious in the pool just before 10 a.m.

It is not known how long the child was in the pool.

Clark said there was no continuous barrier around the pool.
