PD: Man killed wife's boyfriend, self in Scottsdale

SCOTTSDALE, AZ - Scottsdale police say a Tuesday shooting happened between a man and his separated wife's alleged boyfriend.

According to Scottsdale police spokesman David Pubins, officers responded to a report of a wounded man around 9:30 a.m. at the Broadstone Apartments near 92nd Street and Raintree Drive.

Officers found 45-year-old Louise DesCoteas dead in an external stairwell, Pubins said.

As police were looking for a suspect, Pubins said there was another shooting reported at a nearby business complex on 90th Street.

Police found 47-year-old Scott Jablonsky in the employee break room of one of the businesses with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Pubins said it appears Jablonsky and his wife recently separated, and DesCoteas was the wife's boyfriend.

Police are waiting for forensic confirmation, but Pubins said they believe Jablonsky shot DesCoteas outside his apartment and then drove to the business where his wife works and shot himself.

CVS Pharmacy spokesman Mike DeAngelis said Jablonsky and his wife both worked for the company.

Jablonsky was a store manager in Phoenix, DeAngelis said.

He reportedly took his own life at the company's regional office. DeAngelis said the wife was not physically hurt.

"We extend our sincere condolences to our colleague and her family," DeAngelis said. "We are making counseling services available for our colleagues affected by this tragedy."
