Pathologist questions suicide finding in death of Rebecca Zahau at Coronado mansion

SAN DIEGO - A pathologist hired by the family of a woman found hanging nude from the balcony of a suburban San Diego mansion says he seriously doubts the death was a suicide.

Dr. Cyril Wecht discussed his findings Tuesday on the Dr. Phil show. The family of Rebecca Zahau had the body exhumed for him to examine.

The University of Pittsburgh professor says head markings were caused by blunt force trauma. He questions how the girlfriend of a wealthy Arizona pharmaceutical executive could have bound her wrists and ankles and stuffed cloth in her mouth.

The San Diego County Sheriff's Department ruled the July death in Coronado a suicide. It says it has not received any evidence from Wecht but that investigators would agree to meet with him.
