SCOTTSDALE, AZ - A Valley pet sanctuary says a beloved pup named Myla did not survive the surgery needed to remove an extra large tumor from her body.
According to Forever Loved Pet Sanctuary, the 7-year-old boxer mix was surrendered to Maricopa County Animal Care and Control because her owners could not afford the vet care needed to remove the tumor.
Forever Loved said despite the mass, Myla was well behaved, socialized well and had been obedience trained by her owners to sit, stay, down and shake.
The pet sanctuary took her in and started a fundraiser to help fund Myla's surgery and aftercare costs.
Myla had the surgery Tuesday morning at a North Scottsdale Animal Hospital, but did not survive.
Forever Loved did not provide additional information, but said they would post an update soon.
