Man dies in Scottsdale mobile home fire

SCOTTSDALE, AZ - Authorities say a man died in a fire at his Scottsdale home overnight.

Scottsdale police Sgt. Mark Clark said the 55-year-old man appeared to have died from the fire in the living room of the home near McKellips and Hayden roads. The fire was reported by neighbors around 1 a.m.

Fire spokesman Mark DeBruyckere said crews from Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, Salt River Community and Phoenix worked to put out the fire at the Pueblo Sereno Mobile Home Park.

He said the fire was contained to the living room of the home.

Scottsdale fire Capt. Matt Perry said the first units to arrive found heavy smoke and flames shooting from the windows of the double wide mobile home.

The victim was found in the living room and pronounced deceased on the scene.

There was no word on what caused the fire.

Clark said no suspicious circumstances were uncovered by fire investigators.
