SCOTTSDALE, AZ - Amy's Baking Company is expanding its
grand re-opening night to a week-long event after receiving hundreds of seating requests.
Amy and Samy Bouzaglo, owners of the Scottsdale bistro, are looking to save face after they were featured on Gordon Ramsay's "Kitchen Nightmares." The celebrity chef walked out on their restaurant, leading to massive online criticism. The Amy's Baking Company
Facebook page began posting profane responses to the criticism, but the Bouzaglos later claimed they had been hacked.
In addition to extending the grand re-opening event, the Bouzaglos will donate 10 percent of their proceeds during the week to "a charity organized to bring awareness to cyber bullying," a restaurant press release reads.
The Bouzaglos scheduled the grand re-opening to "set the record straight" about their situation, according to the press release. As an added safety precaution, security guards and off-duty police officers will be present to handle any "unruly guests."
The owners will also address the media prior to the
initial re-opening, which will take place Tuesday at 5 p.m.
