Fire burns through Scottsdale home

SCOTTSDALE, AZ - Authorities say crews from Scottsdale and Phoenix worked to put out a house fire in Scottsdale early Saturday evening.

Scottsdale Batt. Chief Roderick Thompson said no one was injured in the fire that burned near Via Linda and Pima Road.

Smoke rising from the fire could be seen from the freeway.

No one was home at the time of the fire.

There were solar panels on the roof and they started to buckle so firefighters were brought down and the fire was fought from the exterior, according to authorities.

The house is not a complete loss but has severe damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
