SCOTTSDALE, AZ - It's already one of the fastest growing biker events in the country and this year organizers say it's about to get a major boost.
That's because Arizona Bike Week now has a billionaire sponsor backing it up.
Bob Parsons, GoDaddy founder, and owner of Harley Davidson of Scottsdale is sponsoring this year’s rally through his Harley dealership.
Event officials said that means lower prices, more vendors, and better entertainment.
"This year we have some of the biggest entertainment ever. ZZ Top, Joan Jett, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Big and Rich, some real big headliners. The sponsorship also brings in more vendors. So when people come down here they get a real good bang for their buck. For 50 bucks you can enjoy some of the best rock and country acts out there," said Justin Johnson of Harley Davidson of Scottsdale.
Perhaps no one has noticed the changes more than Lisa Cyr. She managed a bar at the very first Arizona Bike Week and has been back ever since.
"I fell in love with the motorcycle community and ever since then I've grown with the event." said Cyr.
Cry said one of the things that makes Arizona Bike Week different from other rallies is it open to all atmosphere.
"We may tease people in cars and call them "cagers" but they are more than welcome out here at Arizona Bike Week. Everybody comes out here to have a good time. It's very family friendly. Anyone who has that old antiquated idea of thinking about bikers that will go away in about 2 minutes if they come out here," said Cyr.
Along with concerts, Arizona Bike Week officials and vendors will also be organizing several charity rides.
Gates open at noon on Wednesday at Westworld in Scottsdale.
