3 places to drop off Halloween candy

If you've got too much Halloween candy lying around your house, there's a way to get rid of it and do some good at the same time.

1. CrossFit Scottsdale is paying $1 per pound of Halloween candy turned in by kids through Saturday November 3.
They're located at 14885 N. 83rd Place #102, Scottsdale. 480-922-3253. The candy will be donated to the troops.

2. Dr. Nelson Mar, a dentist in Litchfield Park, is also paying to help you unload some of your Halloween candy. Mar is hosting a "candy buy-back program" on Friday, November 2 from 3:30 - 7 p.m. at the office located at 5220 N Dysart Rd., Suite #144, Litchfield Park. 623-536-6845. They will pay $1 per pound for up to five pounds of unopened Halloween candy which will be donated to Military Assistance Mission , a non-profit group committed to supporting non-commissioned military men and women and the families they leave behind while on deployment. Children must be present and accompanied by an adult.

3. The Southwest Ambulance Candy for Troops event is back. Collected Halloween candy will be sent to Operation Gratitude for inclusion in care packages sent to American troops overseas.
