FOUNTAIN HILLS, AZ - The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the public’s help to catch a suspect they say stole items from a vehicle parked in front of a hotel and tried to return them to the store they’d been bought from earlier in the day.

According to an MCSO press release, the male suspect took a piece of luggage out of a vehicle from in front of the Fountain Hills Comfort Inn around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22.

Inside the luggage was a bag with items purchased from Target earlier in the day.

About 15 minutes later the suspect walked into the Target store in Fountain Hills and tried to return the items he’d stolen, according to MCSO.

At the time, he was wearing a black short-sleeved T shirt with red lettering on the front, black basketball-type shorts with white stripes, and black and white sneakers.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect from the surveillance photo or has information about the crime is asked to call the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, Det. Dibone, at 602-876-1011.
