Three teens seriously injured in Anthem accident

ANTHEM, AZ - A single-vehicle accident injured three teenagers Friday evening, with one requiring air transportation for life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses said the vehicle appeared to be traveling faster than the posted 35mph speed limit near Anthem Way and Galvin Peak Parkway when it struck the median, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.

The three passengers inside, all minors, were seriously injured.

The driver was flown to Phoenix Children's Hospital with what appeared to be life-threatening injuries, while the other two were transported by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.

Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be factors in the accident and an investigation is continuing, according to MCSO.
