SOMERTON, AZ - Authorities say a worker was killed Tuesday when she was struck by a produce trailer in an agricultural field near Yuma.
According to the Yuma County Sheriff's Office, 60-year-old Ana Maria Barrera-Bogarin of San Luis, Arizona was walking with another person to their break area and didn't notice that the tractor was backing up with a produce trailer.
Officials say the two tried to beat the trailer but were unable to and the victim pushed the other person out of the way but was unable to move in time herself.
Barrera-Bogarin was struck by the trailer causing her to fall and she was run over by the trailer.
The victim was taken to the Yuma Regional Medical Center where she pronounced deceased, according to YCSO.
