Border Patrol agents find one dead in Yuma plane crash

YUMA, AZ - Yuma County Sheriff's Office is reporting Border Patrol agents discovered a small, downed plane with one deceased victim Wednesday morning on the Barry M. Goldwater Bombing Range.

The sheriff's office reportedly received the report just after 9 a.m. Wednesday, stating that the plane was found about 10 to 15 miles south of Interstate 8, west of the Mohawk Mountains.

The plane is described as a single-engine passenger plane that is not a military aircraft.

The NTSB will be investigating the crash.

The identity of the occupant that was found inside the plane will not be released until next of kin has been notified, Deputy Roxanne Meyer reports.

No further information was available as of late Wednesday morning.
