WICKENBURG, AZ - A 15-year-old high school student is in custody after a bomb threat was discovered at a Wickenburg school Tuesday morning.
According to Wickenburg police, officers responded to Wickenburg High School where they found a message written on a wall in the varsity boys' locker room in the gymnasium that indicated a bomb would be planted in a specific building at a specific time.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety responded with bomb technicians and a bomb sniffing dog along with Wickenburg firefighters.
Police said all students were evacuated following fire drill procedures and a check of the school grounds was conducted by school staff, firefighters, police, and DPS officers.
Police said no items suspected of being explosives were located.
A 15-year-old male was identified as a suspect during the investigation.
Police said the teen faces charges of making a bomb threat and interference/disruption of an educational facility.
He was transported to the Maricopa County Juvenile Detention facility in Phoenix.
