Maricopa County Sheriff's officials were involved in a deputy-involved shooting with a home invasion suspect on Monday morning.

The incident started around 7 a.m. when the suspect entered a home in Buckeye and took the homeowners car keys and left with their vehicle headed north toward Wickenburg on US-60.

The homeowners were not hurt and called 9-1-1. Law enforcement then worked with OnStar to track the car and to ultimately disable it.

MCSO says before the car was disabled, shots were exchanged and the suspect was wounded as a result.

The suspect was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No deputies were hurt during the exchange.

MCSO is reviewing the actions of the deputies involved and is investigating the shooting as a critical incident.

Air15 video from the scene showed several patrol vehicles from both departments surrounding the scene and an SUV stopped off the road. A man was seen in handcuffs with officials rendering aid.
