WITTMANN, AZ - Authorities say a man who barricaded himself in a Wittmann home Friday was "talked out" of the property and arrested.
Maricopa County Sheriff's spokesman Christopher Hegstrom said the incident started when a deputy attempted to make a traffic stop and the suspect fled the scene.
Hegstrom said the suspect, who is believed to have felony warrants, was able to get to a nearby home near North Center Road and West Harding Avenue where he barricaded himself inside.
Deputies said the suspect fired an unknown number of shots.
Hegstrom said no deputies returned fire and none were injured.
MCSO deputies told ABC15's Christopher Sign that the suspect was eventually "talked out" of the home and was taken into custody.
On Saturday, Hegstrom identified the suspect who fired shots as 48-year-old Phillip Simpson and the driver of the vehicle as Jeffrey Troub, also 48.
Hegstrom said a woman was cited for hindering apprehension and later released.
