Regents approve tuition proposals at ASU, UA, NAU for 2014-15 academic year

TUCSON, AZ - The Arizona Board of Regents has approved the tuition proposals of the state's three public universities for the 2014-15 academic year.

The recommendations approved at a meeting Thursday in Tucson deliver predictable tuition rates for resident undergraduate students for the next several years.

The University of Arizona had proposed a 2 percent tuition increase for in-state students this fall and a 5 percent hike for non-residents.

Arizona State University submitted a proposal last month with no tuition increase for resident undergraduate students and a 3 percent hike for non-resident students.

Northern Arizona University proposed keeping tuition costs stable for undergraduate students currently on the eight-semester Pledge program. But the Flagstaff school was seeking a 2.6 percent tuition increase for incoming in-state freshmen and 1.9 percent for new non-resident undergraduate students.
